Interested in a Career in Psychology?
Join Our Lab!
We are currently recruiting research assistants interested in learning about psychology, mental health and culture. Potential candidates would assist Dr. Gaztambide (“Dr. G”) in his research and scholarly projects.
Queens College students in particular would receive mentorship and supervision of their own research projects.
Candidates would have the opportunity to:
Receive training in qualitative research methods and learn how to develop research questions, conduct literature reviews, learn systems for coding and analyzing data, and data entry and management.
Be exposed to didactic instruction on issues related to race, culture, inequality and mental health through lab meetings, and present on topics related to their interest.
Receive mentorship in professional development, including clarifying academic goals/interests and applying to graduate school (master’s or doctoral school).
Depending on the project, candidates may also have the opportunity to present research findings with Dr. G.
Although we predominantly work with graduate students at Queens College, we are open to graduates and undergraduates from other institutions. While we do not offer paid positions, we do cover costs for relevant trainings.
